Australian and New Zealand Standard
With the present uncertainty of the safety of the drinking water supply and the discovery of live giardia and cryptosporidium in the water supply chain, we have dedicated this range to the selection of all our Australian Standards 4348 certifies the removal of live cryptosporidium and giardia from your drinking water. This standard requires live cryptosporidium to be put through the system when it is tested and that a minimum removal of 99.99% of the live parasites are removed.
NSF/ANSI Standard 53

This standard refers to drinking water treatment units. Standard 53 addresses point-of-use (POU)
and point-of-entry (POE) systems designed to reduce specific
health-related contaminants, such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, lead, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether), that may be present in public or private drinking water.
Point-of-Entry (POE) System
These systems typically treat most of the water entering a residence. Point-of-entry systems, or whole-house systems, are usually installed after the water meter.
Point-of-Use (POU) System
These systems typically treat water in batches and deliver water to a single tap, such as a kitchen sink faucet or an auxiliary faucet mounted next to the kitchen sink.
In the last decade, interest in home water treatment products has grown tremendously. Unfortunately, it isn't always easy for consumers to know whether or not a particular product will actually be as safe and effective as the manufacturer claims at reducing various contaminants from your water supply.
The certification of water filters according to various national or international standards is of paramount importance to ensure the safety and the confidence of the consumers.
As an added assurance for consumers, most certifying bodies require that all products meet annual re-certification requirements and unannounced plant inspections and periodic retesting of all certified products are required of the listed companies.
